About Us

I'm Tom, the proud owner of Retro Football Shirts however was known before as Circa88| Football and I also own the fantastic event Retro Football Fair. My favourite football shirt has to be the 1998 VFL Bochum rainbow number; it's superbly garish with a certain elegance.

I've been obsessed with football since I was 5-6 with my earliest footballing memory being a match between Norwich City V Notts County in the 1994-95 Carling Cup in which my childhood idol (Darren Eadie) scored plus it was my first game. For me, it's not just the sport but it's about the experience, the fans and most importantly the kits. Around this time my dream was to own a sports shop (like the local high street ones pre-Mike Ashley); little did I know this would happen albeit 30 years later!

I started Retro Football Shirts.com in 2018 by selling 5x jerseys I used for 5 a side on Depop and made a few extra £. Around this time I was struggling with my mental health and needed an outlet to focus that negative energy and turn it into a positive.

Fast forward to 2026 and Retro Football Shirts.com is my full-time job and the company ships globally with orders being sent to the likes of  Saudi Arabia, Australia and Japan (plus many more countries).

Over the past 12 months the focus has been to increase the variety and volume of inventory available to offer you guys online without compromising on the quality of items or the standard of customer service received - check out the trustpilot score.

Alongside running retrofootballshirts.com I own the UK's largest (and first) football shirt market, Retro Football Fair. The event was the first of it's kind in the UK when the first took place way back in 2019 at Sacha's Hotel in Manchester. Fast forward 7 years, we've pioneered the space giving multiple traders the opportunity to trade at an event where the customer only wants football shirts. The event has inspired similar events across the world and has seen others come and go within the UK.

You can catch me streaming 2-3 times a week online, at a pop up event or even at the HQ if you want a personal shopping session.

It's been a fantastic journey so far however there's still plenty to do and improve as Retro Football Shirts.com cements itself as being THE independent store to get your football shirts from.
